Pre-School/Day Care Centre
Sri Lankadhara has operated a Day Care Centre and Pre-School since 1980 for kids below 5 years of age. These kids both male and female are drawn specially from non-affluent families in the neighbourhood communities.
The main aim of the Pre-School is to provide preparation for kindergarten in a calm loving and caring environment between the hours of 8.00 a.m. and 1.00 p.m. They receive a cup of milk and vitamins on their arrival and a cooked hot lunch before leaving for home. As at the end of last year, the Pre-School served 35 children, a mixture of girls and boys of different ethnicities and religions.
The Day Care Centre and Pre-School has proved over the years to be a dedicated, neighbour friendly institution that caters to those parents and guardians who have to leave their children in safe hands, while they are trying to earn a living outside their homes.
